Summary: Can summer be truly summer without Cousins Beach?
It used to be that Belly counted the days until summer, until she was back at Cousins Beach with Conrad and Jeremiah. But not this year. Not after Susannah got sick again and Conrad stopped caring. Everything that was right and good has fallen apart, leaving Belly wishing summer would never come.
But when Jeremiah calls saying Conrad has disappeared, Belly knows what she must do to make things right again. And it can only happen back at the beach house, the three of them together, the way things used to be. If this summer really and truly is the last summer, it should end the way it started--at Cousins Beach.
My Thoughts: I thought that It's Not Summer Without You reflected life even better than The Summer I Turned Pretty, something I didn't think was even possible. Han deals with issues that teens have to face in a thoughtful, understanding way, and I really loved her portrayal of the situation because where many would think that Belly has the perfect life (there's two gorgeous boys after her, she's gorgeous, and she spends her summer on a beach that sounds like PARADISE..need I say more?), we see that it's not all rainbows and cupcakes. She manages to capture all these raw, touching emotions in such a magical way and I can't help but admire her for that. It was an AMAZING book, and GO TEAM CONRAD! :)
