Pure (Covenant #2)

Pure (Covenant, #2)Title: Pure (Covenant #2)
Author: Jennifer L. Armentrout
Rating: 4.5/5
SummaryThere is need. And then there is Fate...

Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome--especially when Alexandria's "other half" is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom--so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do--and sacrifice--for her.

When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies--lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon... and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters didn't blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude... or killing her.

When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone.
My Thoughts: If you guys follow me for any length of time you know I’m a bit obsessive over Jennifer’s writing. You have no idea how excited I was to read this book.
This book starts out where the first one ends. The relationships between all the characters are taken to a new level, the action (yes, even that kind of action) is ever present, and the storyline continues to grow. I can’t seriously talk about this book without wanting to give everything away.
Alex and Seth are pretty much joined at the hip and this puts strains on everyone. Alex is one of my absolutely favorite YA heroines. She’s real, strong, fearsome, and yet there is a side to her that’s just a little girl wanting to be loved. I love the contrast and Jennifer does it well. Throughout the whole book, Alex continues to grow and I love seeing her character develop.

What can I possibly say about this book that won't just make me just sound like a raving fan-girl? Hmm...not sure if it's possible to NOT sound that way. Jennifer L. Armentrout simply blows my mind, rocks my world, and makes me question my sanity. POINT: GO READ THE DAMN BOOK NOW!
P.S. Favorite Quote: “I love your bed." I rolled onto my stomach, smiling.
"I love it so much I'd marry it if I could."

Seth laughed out loud. "You'd marry my bed?"

"Mmm.”

Out of Sight, Out of Time (Gallagher Girls #5)

Out of Sight, Out of Time (Gallagher Girls, #5)Title:Out of Sight, Out of Time (Gallagher Girls #5)
Author: Ally Carter
Rating: 4.5/5
SummaryThe last thing Cammie Morgan remembers is leaving the Gallagher Academy to protect her friends and family from the Circle of Cavan--an ancient terrorist organization that has been hunting her for over a year. But when Cammie wakes up in an alpine convent and discovers months have passed, she must face the fact that her memory is now a black hole. The only traces left of Cammie’s summer vacation are the bruises on her body and the dirt under her nails, and all she wants is to go home.

Once she returns to school, however, Cammie realizes that even the Gallagher Academy now holds more questions than answers. Cammie, her friends, and mysterious spy-guy Zach must face their most difficult challenge yet as they travel to the other side of the world, hoping to piece together the clues that Cammie left behind. It’s a race against time. The Circle is hot on their trail and willing stop at nothing to prevent Cammie from remembering what she did last summer.
My Thoughts: For the remainder of this review, any time Zachary Goode's name is mentioned, it shall be CAPITALIZED in honor of his awesome-ness
This book was AWESOME for the following reasons:
1. The mystery
2. The SPIES
3. We finally get ANSWERS
4. INTENSE ending
5. ZACHHHHHH <3333333 SQUEAL
6. ZACH GOES TO GALLAGHER ACADEMY!
7. ZACH......WITH NO SHIRT
8. ZACH and Cammie!
As each book in the Gallagher Girl Academy series releases, Ally Carter's writing is even more phenomenal. This book was not what I had expected or the direction I had predicted it would go in, and there were some great twists and turns.  I loved being surprised! Perhaps what got me to love it most was how I was able to relate to the characters even though they were spies.

Everytime ZACH's name was mentioned I did this:
I really want to write more about the book, but I can't, it will give away WAY to much.
If you don't believe me read the book right now. If you don't have it, go to your local library, and request it, so you can read it. My brain was on overload after reading this. I waiting for sooooo long to read this, and it did not disappoint. And if your one of those people that think this is too late in coming, WHO CARES? JUST GO AND READ THE BOOK. READ. THE. BOOK. REEEAADDD IIITTTT.

Spell Bound (Hex Hall #3)

SpellboundTitle: Spell Bound (Hex Hall #3)
Author: Rachel Hawkins
Rating: 4/5
Summary: Hailed as “impossible to put down,” the Hex Hall series has both critics and teens cheering. With a winning combination of romance, action, magic and humor, this third volume will leave readers enchanted.
Just as Sophie Mercer has come to accept her extraordinary magical powers as a demon, the Prodigium Council strips them away. Now Sophie is defenseless, alone, and at the mercy of her sworn enemies—the Brannicks, a family of warrior women who hunt down the Prodigium. Or at least that’s what Sophie thinks, until she makes a surprising discovery. The Brannicks know an epic war is coming, and they believe Sophie is the only one powerful enough to stop the world from ending. But without her magic, Sophie isn’t as confident.
Sophie’s bound for one hell of a ride—can she get her powers back before it’s too late?
My Thoughts: For this review, I'm going to make a list of likes and dislikes:
Likes:
  • I love Sophie's wit! Her personality is what got me hooked onto the series.
  • The introduction of the Brannicks in person
  • Spell Bound = drama=what I love=JOY :)
Dislikes:
  •  I thought the first two books were fantastic, this one was a little slow for me. Nothing new happened in the sense that it was obvious Sophie was going to win. I was just waiting for it to happen and at times I was thinking, let's just get this over with already. Book two was so dangerous and mysterious and this one was just bleh!
  • I loved how the book wrapped up nicely, but, I am COMPLETELY SHOCKED at Cal's ending. I'm literally holding my self back from ruining the ending. IT IS SO SHOCKING.
All in all, Spellbound is still a must-read, especially after the HUGE cliffhanger at the end of Demonglass.
