Title: Forbidden
Author: Syie James and Ryan M. James
Rating: 3.8/5
Summary: She should not exist.
My Thoughts: Syrie & Ryan James’ Forbidden was an interesting take on the Angel genre. It is the story of Claire Brennan, a scholarship student at Emerson Academy. The book begins with a new school year, and Claire is determined to gather up the confidence to speak to Neil, the boy of her dreams. *CUE ALEC* However, Claire finds herself getting more than she bargained for after becoming friends with the new student, Alec MacKenzie.
Alec can't believe his luck when he meets a girl like Claire, and can't wait to find out more about her. But the thing is, he's a Grigori, an angel watcher, who protects humans, but has also gone AWOL from his job, because he can no longer stand the strict laws of the Grigori ways. But no one can find out who he really is, not even Claire, for they would be put in danger.
Although the dialogue was a little to dramatic, the book was still an addictive read. I will definitely be waiting for a sequel!

Summary: She should not exist.
He should not love her.
Claire Brennan has been attending Emerson Academy for two years now (the longest she and her mom have remained anywhere) and she's desperate to stay put for the rest of high school. So there's no way she's going to tell her mom about the psychic visions she's been having or the creepy warnings that she's in danger.
Alec MacKenzie is fed up with his duties to watch and, when necessary, eliminate the descendants of his angelic forefathers. He chose Emerson as the ideal hiding place where he could be normal for once. He hadn't factored Claire into his plans. . . .
Their love is forbidden, going against everything Alec has been taught to believe. But when the reason behind Claire's unusual powers is revealed and the threat to her life becomes clear, how far will Alec go to protect her?
