Bloodrose (Nightshade #3)

Bloodrose (Nightshade, #3)Title: Bloodrose (Nightshade #3)
Author: Andrea Cremer
Rating: 3/5
SummaryCalla has always welcomed war.

But now that the final battle is upon her, there's more at stake than fighting. There's saving Ren, even if it incurs Shay's wrath. There's keeping Ansel safe, even if he's been branded a traitor. There's proving herself as the pack's alpha, facing unnamable horrors, and ridding the world of the Keepers' magic once and for all. And then there's deciding what to do when the war ends. If Calla makes it out alive, that is.

My Thoughts: Picture this: Your laying down in your bed, reading Bloodrose by Andrea Cremer. Everything has gone down PERFECTLY; Shay and Calla are together and although Calla was slutty at times, Shay a little too protective, and Calla left everyone's life in mortal danger just to be with Shay, the climatic battle is over now. You have got about, 40 pages left and figure that the author will use it to tie up some loose ends. Suddenly. BAM! A new plot arises, disturbing your serene happiness. BAM! Shay and Calla's love life may be over. BAM! (spoiler) Cala, Shay, and the rest of the pack must remain in their wolf form forever and not have any humanity.
WHAT THE (INSERT WORD OF YOUR CHOICE ) HAPPENED?
I'm going to try to go through character by character:
Calla:  "Oh, I would wait until the war ends, then I make the choice." Umm, yeah while you're basically letting Shay rip your clothes off.  Calla DID NOT know what she wanted, she keep going back and forth. She's kissing the other behind the other guy's back and she gets OH SO MAD when they try to rip each others throat out. Like hello, you can't expect them to not fight over you!
Shay: A little to incompetent, and too over protective
Ren: All I can say is, I don't speak evil of the dead.
Adne & Conner= PERFECTION

Cinder (Lunar Chronicles #1)

Cinder (Lunar Chronicles, #1)Title: Cinder (Lunar Chronicles #1)
Author: Marissa Meyer
Rating: 4/5
Summary: Humans and androids crowd the raucous streets of New Beijing. A deadly plague ravages the population. From space, a ruthless lunar people watch, waiting to make their move. No one knows that Earth's fate hinges on one girl... Cinder, a gifted mechanic, is a cyborg. She's a second-class citizen with a mysterious past, reviled by her stepmother and blamed for her stepsister's illness. But when her life becomes intertwined with the handsome Prince Kai's, she suddenly finds herself at the center of an intergalactic struggle, and a forbidden attraction. Caught between duty and freedom, loyalty and betrayal, she must uncover secrets about her past in order to protect her world's future.
My Thoughts: Set in a world were androids and humans walk side by side in the city of New Beijing, a deadly plague looms over the city, with death just around the corner. A young mechanic- Cinder lives with her “wicked” stepmother, and being a cyborg is made more of a second-class citizen. But when her path crosses with Prince Kai and her sister falls ill to the plague, Cinder’s life and past start to intertwine with the future of those of the city and even the worlds.
I love Cinder. Shes intelligenthumorous and extremely endearing. I loved her spirit, she was not meek or a pushover.
And then there's Prince Kai. With his easy smile and his impartial character, I was pretty much in love with him instantly. And his winning qualities didn’t stop there! He was also so kind and caring and charming...and did I mention handsome?
Marissa Meyer has created a TRULY engrossing take on this classic fairytale. The book was very well written, and descriptive, I had a movie playing in my head while reading. The only con I can find is that the next book will not come out until 2013. Oh my poor soul!

The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight

The Statistical Probability of Love at First SightTitle: The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight
Author: Jennifer E. Smith
Rating: 3.5/5
SummaryWho would have guessed that four minutes could change everything?

Today should be one of the worst days of seventeen-year-old Hadley Sullivan's life. She's stuck at JFK, late to her father's second wedding, which is taking place in London and involves a soon to be step-mother that Hadley's never even met. Then she meets the perfect boy in the airport's cramped waiting area. His name is Oliver, he's British, and he's in seat 18C. Hadley's in 18A.

Twists of fate and quirks of timing play out in this thoughtful novel about family connections, second chances and first loves. Set over a 24-hour-period, Hadley and Oliver's story will make you believe that true love finds you when you're least expecting it.

My Thoughts: The Statistical Probability of Love at First Sight is a cute, funny book that reads like a romantic comedy. Hadley Sullivan's life changes when she misses her flight to London  by 4 minutes. Hadley, now stuck at JFK meets Oliver, a native European who is on his way home.
Although the book is predictable, it has a certain captivating air around it that makes you want to know more. Throughout the book, we journey through Hadley's character and all the pain she felt after her parents divorced.
Most interesting thing of the book: It takes place over the course of  24 hours. Yes, 24 HOURS!
For fans of Anna and the French Kiss, and romance in general, this is a book for you.
